Multiple honors including, Summa Cum Laude Latin honors in Communication – my honors thesis being about how we may successfully negotiate our multiple – and sometimes seemingly conflicting – identities throughout our everyday lives. My thesis was entitled The Negotiation of Oxymoronic Identities through Strategic Stabilization. Other emphasis include diversity & inclusion, and multi-cultural dynamics, as well as social and educational equity, and social service. I also earned  a minor in Ethnic Studies over a wide range of historical and social topics, including an independent research project on the development of Southwestern culture.

August 2024, CPR, AED, First Aid certified by the American Heart Association

In Spring of ’24, I was super honored to receive the Mentor of the Year award for the First Generation and Multicultural (FaM), Business Program at CU Denver. It has truly been my pleasure to assist these amazing students in achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. It has also been an absolutely wonderful time working with Nimol and Dom, as they move this amazing program forward, benefiting many students and the university in big ways. I have to also give a shout out to my great mentees, especially Amal, who nominated me for this honor. And, I would not be enjoying this achievement without the support of my awesome and beautiful wife, as she has been my primary mentor for many years.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Program Quality Assessment – Denver Office of Children’s Affairs: This training allows me to assess child and youth trainers and programs regarding proper practice and observance of all SEL guidelines. This tool is for enhancing the quality of programs brought to children and youth, through assisting trainers in enhancing their skills and program delivery.

Certified Mandatory Reporter – Colorado Office of Children, Youth and Family: This certification is a necessity for anyone working with children, A mandatory reporter is required, by law, to report any suspicion or instance of child abuse and/or neglect. Being certified allows me greater skills in identifying possible child neglect and/or abuse, addressing children properly regarding these issues, and how to properly and effectively report these instance to the proper authorities..

Certified Professional Coach through the Fowler Institute. This certification allows me a very structured and proven method of training and coaching that is results driven down a path to fulfillment and success . The Academy’s founder, Barry Fowler, is the founder of the highly successful Sylvan Learning Centers, results proven, fast track education centers.

Certified Mentor through the College Reading and Learning association. This certification was earned through a consistent, successful track record of mentoring under a program of recorded hours at the University of Colorado Denver. Across four years I performed as a mentor to domestic and international students as well as incoming freshman.

Continuing education includes: individual and group identity, gender identity, implicit bias management, anti-bullying, social equity, the physiology of the adolescent brain vs. behavior, positive youth development, resiliency, youth violence intervention, and bias management training for police officers.

I also have a very enhanced skill set built through years of experience in private, corporate, government, legal, and mom and pop environments. I have worked from entry level to management, as well as in contracting and consulting.
